Riding School in Iceland – Horseback & Horse Riding Lessons

Our riding school in South Iceland welcomes riders of all ages and levels — from complete beginners to passionate horse lovers. With the guidance of our experienced instructors, you will learn the essentials of horseback riding in Iceland while building a deep connection with our gentle Icelandic horses.

The Icelandic horse is known for its strength, friendly character, and unique tölt gait. In our lessons, you’ll not only discover how to ride, but also gain an appreciation for what makes this breed such an important part of Iceland’s history and culture. Whether you’re preparing for a longer horse riding tour in Iceland, practicing before a trek near Reykjavik, or simply curious to experience the tölt, our school offers a safe, fun, and memorable start.

    Pony Ride for the Youngest

    The little ones get to meet their pony, groom and help prepare it before heading out for a short 10–15 minute ride. The guide leads the pony while a parent walks alongside for extra security.
    Total experience time is approximately 45–60 minutes, including cozy warm drinks and cookies afterwards.
