Eyjafjallajökull Glacier Tour – Horseback Riding in Iceland

Where Mountains, Glaciers, and Horses Meet

Take on one of the most breathtaking horseback tours in Iceland as we climb towards the majestic Eyjafjallajökull Glacier. Starting from our family farm, we ride north into the mountains, crossing peaceful streams and passing grazing sheep. The trail gradually narrows and steepens, leading us higher into the foothills where panoramic views unfold: glaciers, mountains, valleys, and the vast black sand beaches stretching all the way to Vík. On clear days, we may even glimpse the Westman Islands rising from the Atlantic Ocean and catch sight of the mighty Skógafoss waterfall in the distance.

On the return journey, we pass the charming Írafoss waterfall and ride across open fields where foals and young Icelandic horses often roam freely. The constantly changing landscapes make this a true adventure for nature lovers and riders who want to experience Iceland at its most dramatic.

Because this ride includes mountainous terrain and some narrow paths, it may not be suitable for those with a strong fear of heights. Riders should be in good balance and decent physical shape. Weather conditions may affect the route, and we may adjust it for safety.
